Halal tourism, also known as Muslim-friendly travel, adheres to the principles and regulations of Islam, including services such as dining, accommodation, transportation, entertainment, and shopping. This segment is rapidly growing within the global tourism and hospitality industry, driven by the increasing demand for Halal-compliant services.
On July 17th, in Hanoi, the Enterprise Development Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment organized a seminar titled “Opportunities and Potential of Vietnam’s Agricultural Industry and Vietnam-Taiwan Cooperation in Developing Agricultural Chains.” The event saw significant contributions from experts and agricultural businesses nationwide, all aiming to propose strategic directions and solutions to advance Vietnam’s agricultural sector towards innovation and efficiency.
On the afternoon of July 16th, a delegation of Indian businesses, led by the Federation of Indian Industry (FII), met with Vietnamese companies to explore trade and investment opportunities. This significant event, organized by the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, was attended by Deputy Director General of the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Nguyen Anh Tuan, along with numerous businesses from both countries engaged in various sectors including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, information technology, and manufacturing.
On the afternoon of July 12, a seminar on trade promotion to the African-Middle Eastern markets with the theme “Potential for Promoting Halal Agricultural Products in the Middle Eastern Market” was held in Hanoi. Organized by the Trade Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the seminar attracted a large number of import-export businesses and agricultural sectors attending both in-person and online.
On June 14th, the Saudi Arabian Embassy, in collaboration with the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organized the International Camel Day (June 22nd) with the theme “The Role of Camels in Saudi Arabian Cultural Heritage,” celebrating the Year of the Camel 2024.
