Oud Vietnam at India Studies Event in Hanoi

On March 5, 2026, the academic event “India Studies in Vietnam – From Theory to Practice” took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the collaboration of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre. The program brought together lecturers, researchers, students, and guests interested in India–Vietnam cultural and academic connections.

As part of the exhibition activities, Oud Vietnam participated with a display booth introducing the culture and heritage of Vietnamese agarwood (oud) to visitors attending the event.

Academic Exchange and Cultural Exhibition

The program included an exhibition highlighting research achievements related to Indian history, culture, and diplomacy in Vietnam, followed by thematic discussion sessions on cultural exchange and cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

Alongside these academic discussions, exhibition booths allowed participants to explore cultural elements connected to the region.

Introducing Vietnamese Agarwood

At the event, Oud Vietnam’s booth presented various forms of natural agarwood, offering visitors an introduction to the material’s origins and its cultural significance in Vietnam.

Agarwood—often known internationally as oud—has long been valued for its rich aroma and its role in spiritual rituals, incense traditions, and perfumery across many Asian and Middle Eastern cultures.

Through this small cultural display, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese agarwood and the traditional craftsmanship behind it, adding a cultural dimension to the academic event.
